Plascon House Tour: A Bold Red Home
A bold red panelled exterior with striking white window frames form the iconic look of this stylish Swedish residence. The inside is equally trendy with an evident rustic chic design that is very much on trend at present.
A stunning wooden deck with patio furniture lines the exterior of this red Swedish abode. Here outdoor living is just as essential as indoor comforts. The rustic nature of the raw wooden floors and furniture is carried through to the interior of the home, which is an extension of all we love from the outdoors. Detailed blue and white mosaic tiles create a dramatic feature wall in the kitchen area. A chalk-board wall also adds a more homely, rustic appeal, as does a vintage wood-burning oven. Hinting at the building’s history, these quirky elements work together to create a peaceful yet personalised family home. Textured white walls and terracotta floors complete the look here. In the living areas, we get more of a sense of Nordic design with a playful mix of furniture and a neutral colour palette that is both calming and elegant (although unrefined). An oversized rustic pot is used as decor piece here, and paired with vintage wooden furniture, brings character to this old home. Shades of white, grey and woody browns work together beautifully in this living room. The loft-styled bathroom also embraces a neutral and mostly white colour scheme that oozes fresh appeal with mini tiles that extend up the walls and around the vintage wooden vanity. Even the choice of flooring has an old-world feel about it, adding texture and colour to this neutral space. We also love the use of a big unadorned and slanted window that works well to brighten up this family bathroom. Simple, clean and minimalist in design – we love the overall look and feel of this home. Contact Plascon Via
