Ambiente 2024

The future is creative.

Showcasing the next generation of makers, Ambiente 2024 will once again highlight some of the brightest young creatives and designers in our midst this January.

From Germany and the Netherlands to the UK and Japan, 19 new talents will participate in the trade show in Frankfurt, offering unconventional solutions and unusual perspectives to shaping our daily lives in a stylish and future-oriented way.

“With passion and a clear understanding of responsibility, the newcomers are redefining the boundaries of design and shaping a sustainable vision for the world of tomorrow,” said Julia Uherek, Vice President Consumer Goods Fairs, Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH.

“Our funding programme supports the selected designers in their projects and offers them the opportunity to present their future-oriented concepts to a broad audience and to network internationally.”

Novel concepts include British designer Salma Nassef’s sustainable jewellery collection, which sees her transform useless materials, such as dying plants and food waste, into precious resources, and German designer Nicholas Plunkett’s “11 Percent” porcelain tableware set created out of filtered cellulose fibres from wastewater treatment plants, which contain eleven percent wastewater residue, and recycled porcelain.

Another stand-out display is that of Japanese designer Atsushi Shindo who combines tradition with contemporary design for “Haori” – a lighting object inspired by “the feeling of lightness and comfort when wearing a traditional Japanese haori kimono” and characterised by a minimalist, customisable design, so doing translating fashion into decor in a fresh, new way.

Ambiente 2024 will run from 26 to 30 January 2024 at the Frankfurt Exhibition Center in Germany.
