Da Rocha Interiors

Synonymous with quality craftsmanship and bespoke, project-specific design solutions, Da Rocha Interiors is the go-to for discerning tastemakers in search of striking interiors.

Built on passion and drive, the family-owned and operated Johannesburg-based company was started by husband-and-wife team Arlindo and Ines da Rocha in the early 90s. Today, the company has expanded quite significantly, with the couple’s daughter, Daniela, a qualified interior designer, overseeing the interior-design division, Da Rocha Atelier.

The atelier offers “a full turnkey solution for your interior design and decor requirements, whether it be in assisting in creating your ideal luxury living space or intimate yet functional working space,” explains Daniela.

The turnkey interior design package includes a full interior design presentation, including selecting finishes (floor and wall), fittings and built-in kitchen, wardrobes and bathroom furnishings and placements, a colour scheme based on flooring and decor selections and a presentation of digital mood boards and/or renders to convey the project’s sense of space and style.

Other services include decor and styling services, window treatments and curtains, wall treatments and wallpaper, interior design and space planning and custom furniture design.

The latter, of course, is a key focus for the business as crafting custom furniture is how it all started in 1994 when Arlindo first began.

“In 1994 I began manufacturing customised furniture. One year later Da Rocha Cabinet Maker CC was registered as a company and a factory was established in the south of Johannesburg. The business became so successful that my wife, Ines, left her job to assist with the expansion of the company,” Arlindo explains.

“Over the years our greatest achievements have been the creation of our high-quality furniture and client satisfaction in the many homes situated locally and nationally, and even internationally.”

A tradition Daniela is eager to build on: “My main objective is continuing giving our clients the best service, and opening more showrooms throughout South Africa. Making Da Rocha Interiors an internationally recognised company and brand, as well as continuing with the family legacy is my aspiration,” she affirms.
