Christian Lacroix Maison Unveils Casa Can Can: A Mediterranean Celebration of Colour, Craft and Imagination
For Christian Lacroix Maison, interiors have always been about more than decoration. Since 2010, the brand’s distinctive universe has combined colour, imagination, and artistic freedom to create spaces rich in personality and emotion. With its latest collection, Casa Can Can, the maison turns its attention to the Mediterranean, capturing the atmosphere, textures, and memories that define life along sun-drenched coastlines.
Conceived under the creative direction of Sacha Walckhoff, the collection draws inspiration from the sensory richness of southern Europe. Terracotta warmed by the sun, sea spray carried on coastal breezes, glazed ceramic tiles, olive groves, rosemary, and flowering gardens all become part of a design language that feels both nostalgic and contemporary.
At the heart of the collection is Otro Mundo, a vivid celebration of Mediterranean vegetation expressed through panoramic wallpaper, embroidered linen panels, and decorative cushions. Rich with colour and movement, the designs evoke dreamlike landscapes where nature becomes both backdrop and protagonist.
Elsewhere, the influence of wind and water appears through Seigaiha Loca, an intricately embroidered panel featuring organic wave forms stitched into rustic cotton. The piece introduces texture and rhythm while reinforcing the collection’s connection to the natural world.
The Mediterranean narrative continues through Huerta Gitana, inspired by the lush vegetable gardens of Andalusia. Presented as both wallpaper and luxurious velvet fabric, the design captures the abundance and vibrancy of southern landscapes through expressive botanical motifs and layered colour.
Decorative accessories further extend the story. The Milà cushion references the architectural language of Antoni Gaudí through geometric detailing, while Lisboa Spring celebrates the tiled courtyards and decorative surfaces synonymous with Lisbon. Meanwhile, the playful Guapa and Roubine cushions introduce signature Christian Lacroix elements through embroidery, pattern, and richly woven velvet textures.
Created in collaboration with leading manufacturers and artisans, Casa Can Can reflects Christian Lacroix Maison’s continued commitment to craftsmanship, material exploration, and artistic storytelling. The collection transforms interiors into evocative landscapes where colour, texture, and imagination converge, bringing a distinctly Mediterranean spirit into contemporary living spaces.
