Studioforma Design was established in 2002 by Alex Leuzinger and his business partner as an architectural start-up. After several years of successful collaboration, Leuzinger bought out his former business partner to become the company’s sole proprietor. This company has expanded to become an internationally renowned architecture and design studio. It leads the way in luxury architecture and design with various projects showcasing architecture, retail interior and furniture design projects. 

The multi-talented team of architects, interior architects, planners, and designers are passionate about creating tailor-made spaces that focus on their clients’ wishes. They are involved in various architectural projects from new buildings to facade reconstruction, and historic building preservation. They also pride themselves in producing appealing customised interior design concepts. 

The Studioforma DesignLab is a meeting place for great creative minds with backgrounds in product and graphic design and fashion. Together they are dedicated to creating products that combine technological innovation and traditional craftsmanship. These include modern lighting, furniture, and décor objects in general.  

 This year the company has been specifically recognised for its interior design with the award for Best Luxury Beauty Salon Design for Luxury Piercing Boutique Giada Ilardo. The salon is one of the first piercing jewellery manufacturers to have positioned itself in the luxury market. Alex Leuzinger’s vision was to design an eye-catching space that matches the salon’s prime location on the world-famous shopping street.  

 Laid over three floors, the boutique resembles a canvas covered in a landscape of mottled sand with a pink sky and free-floating mannequin heads. Clients are welcomed on the first floor, where the luxury pieces are artfully displayed on raw tra-vertine in cases with tastefully furnished private rooms upstairs for discreet body piercing. The design perfectly reflects the class and warmth of owner Giada Ilardo and her team. An impressive example of an individualised plan that fulfils the
client’s needs.
