Celebrity Homes: Step Inside The Trendy LA Home of Adam Levine & Behati Prinsloo
It’s all cool, calm and oh so soulful in the home of celebrity couple Adam and Behati Prinsloo Levine. They recently gave the public a peek inside their gorgeous one-story Pacific Palisades, California, ranch-style home in a recent issue of Architectural Digest. Let’s take a closer look inside…
Location, location, location
Yip, you guessed it. It’s all about location when it comes to this stunning LA abode. The house is tucked between the Santa Monica Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. And it’s certainly a private slice of paradise.
What’s more is that the home is nestled far off the street. It opens up to spectacular views stretching to the ocean. According to AD, previous owners have included Gregory Peck, producer Brian Grazer, and Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner.
After selling their previous home completely furnished, the Maroon 5 front man and Namibian model, who wed in 2014, started over with this new LA property. But instead of wild interiors or eclectic styles, the couple decided to keep things chic. The home therefore feels calm and natural.
Reimagined
Adam and Behati opted for a high-design, low-pretension family oasis. They both love to live with beautiful things, but in a casual way. This was part of the design.
Leading the interior makeover, Clements Design brought the vision to life. “We basically stripped it all down. We simplified the materials and colour palette and exposed the bones of the house to create a beautiful, neutral backdrop for their collections of art and design,” Tommy Clements notes.
The interiors’ neutral colour palette is therefore punctuated only by grand works of contemporary art. Vibrant, imposing pieces by American painters Henry Taylor and Richard Prince elevate the dining and bar areas.
“When things are chaotic culturally, as they have been for the last half decade, it tends to foster great art,” Levine told the magazine. “Behati and I have an emotional attachment to everything we collect.”
Keeping it chic
Playful use of texture and distinct furnishings work wonderfully here. A neutral palette stops the home from feeling like a soulless gallery space.
The voluminous living room, commanded by a striking Rashid Johnson canvas, best exemplifies the home’s pervasive vibe of hushed chic and lounge-y luxury. It boasts deliberately low-slung custom seating, classic Jean Prouvé Visiteur chairs, and minimalist basalt slab cocktail tables that hover inches off the floor.
It’s a chic take on a family residence — one that the pair share with daughters Dusty and Gio, as well as their golden retriever, Charlie, and “goldendoodle” (a golden retriever and poodle mix), Bones.
