3 Top Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Transformations

We are in love with the latest Chalk Paint furniture transformations presented by Annie Sloan. Here are three of our favourites.

Furniture or Art?

No unicorns were harmed in the painting of this cabinet! That subtle rainbow blend, which looks almost fluid because the use of colour is so nuanced and unexpected is the result of a fair few Chalk Paint colours, lots and lots of blending, and a hefty dose of talent. Painter in Residence Chloe Kempster is really finding her feet, with this, her second piece in the role. Annie Sloan’s Painters in Residence programme was devised to allow talented furniture painters to be more experimental and artistic with their designs and to shine a spotlight on the often-overlooked sphere of “decorative arts”. This is a fabulous example of furniture painting as art.

A Dignified Dresser

Another furniture painting talent to be reckoned with are Patience & Gough, who do a wonderful line in handsome and charismatic painted pieces. Recently they entered into a partnership with Liberty of London. Liberty has a strong and long-established tradition of championing handcrafted work; Patience & Gough in esteemed company alongside Liberty’s past collaborators, including luminaries such as William Morris and Dante Gabriel Rossetti. If purchasing a one-off Patience & Gough original isn’t on the cards for you, channel their signature stately style – see this dignified dresser – using Chalk Paint in Athenian Black.

Add Some Sunshine in Arles

Some warm and pleasant Chalk Paint in Arles to round off this week’s picks. Atelier 111 Deco are furniture painters based in Montreal, Canada. In these cold winter months, average temperatures are in the minus tens, so if buttery yellow tones can provide cheer in that climate then we would strongly urge you to invest in this earthy mustard ochre to add extra sunshine in your home! The rustic, organic touches complement the warm credentials of Arles wonderfully – so if you’re one of those who like their plants, raffia textures, and perhaps even a bit of macramé, you’ll love Arles.
