True Design Nemo Lighting
Founded in Milan in 1993 by Franco Cassina, Nemo Lighting is a pre-eminent Italian lighting design firm. With a history of innovations that have inspired the creation of contemporary icons, the company is known for its luminous designs, the latest of which is Type. Explore more with True Design.
Designed by Guillaume Boget, “Type represents a sophisticated and technical object that brings the most advanced research in optics and dimming control into the domestic environment,” explains Nemo Lighting.
A smart task light, a simple hand gesture can orient the beam angle of the floor lamp and vary the intensity of the light, making it one of the most innovative, efficient and user-friendly designs on the market.
The lamp features a circular steel base and tubular aluminium rod painted matt black and a cylindrical-shaped diffuser with an LED spotlight that can be rotated 360 degrees.
Characteristic of Boget’s design approach, Type aims to establish economical relationships between materials, techniques and uses as Boget seeks fluidity in the convergence of gestures to achieve form.
Bloget is an independent designer based in Paris. After graduating from ENSCI-Les Ateliers with honours in 2016, he first worked for designers and architects on furniture, object and interior design projects before founding his industrial design studio in 2018.
Nemo Lighting is locally available at True Design. Stockists of the finest authentic designs, True Design represents several premium international brands in South Africa.
