The Lighting Warehouse: Show Your Metal
Metallics are shining bright this year – wherever you look, metallics are coming to the fore in all their variants.
Says Melissa Davidson from leading lighting retailer, The Lighting Warehouse: “ Everybody loves the sophisticated, luxurious and glamorous influence that metallics can impart onto an interior scheme – and this is why it is popping up everywhere – from flooring to walls, to objets d’art, furniture and of course, lighting. And rather than one metallic shade taking the limelight, in 2020, all metallic shades are in demand!”
She offers the two main insider “tricks” to successfully decorating with metallics: “The golden rule (excuse the pun) is to use it in moderation – too much can be a little overwhelming and make a space seem austere, cold and clinical. Rather add pops of shiny metallic accents and features in strategic places. To create a composition that is glam, yet light and airy, complement the metallic accents by incorporating earthy hues and varied natural textures such as leather, marble, wood and brick. This will make the composition warmer aesthetically, and more inviting.”
She says that lighting is an ideal way of adding some metallic musings to your home’s interiors: “Feature lighting, such as table lamps for example, are usually standout elements in their own right. But add a touch of metallic allure, and they become eye-catching accents that can’t be ignored.” In line with the metallic décor trend, The Lighting Warehouse has added a number of gorgeous metallic table lamps to their range – including:
The Roma table lamps (R449) feature the best in contemporary design, industrial undertones and a definite metallic glow. Available in Black/Copper, Black/Gold, and Gold/White.
The Morgan bankers lamp (R999) boasts traditional styling and bang on trend finishes in contrasting matt Graphite Black and Copper.
The Dante table lamp (R399) is slick, elegant and timeless – offering the ability to add a subtle touch of metallics to any interior space. It is available in Black/Copper, White/Gold, and Black/Black combinations.
The quirky Gold/White and the Silver/White Marmo table lamps (R349) boasts a modern aesthetic, with a subtle, almost retro appeal. This range is also available in White or Black Terrazzo-finish as well.
