Max on Top: Colours, stones and patterns for refined and creative coffee tables by Arpa
Despite its small size, the coffee table represents a functional and relevant piece of furniture within the aesthetics of a living room. Serving as a display for books, collectibles, plants, lamps or simply as a support for a plate of cookies and a cup of coffee, this tiny table becomes an integral part of the room’s atmosphere and conviviality, whether it is a waiting room or a home stay.
Three Italian interior design brands have selected Arpa® high quality surfaces to create different models of coffee tables.
Venedia
Venedia – a design studio based nearby Venice – completes the “Sanpolo” collection of upholstered seats with a low table to harmonise the furnishing composition. Supported by a metal base, the oval top features Arpa® Porfido Nero decor, which combines the natural elegance of dark stone with the brilliant touch of Mika finish’s luminous grains. Together with Sanpolo’s lounge chair and two-seater sofa, the coffee table by Venedia becomes ideal for setting up a waiting room.
S-CAB
Designed by Meneghello Paolelli for the Italian manufacturing company S-CAB, Hyppo is a playful collection of coffee tables inspired by hippo’s morphology. The aluminium legs, sturdy and tubular, support a thin Arpa top with a sinuous, irregular shape, the same colour as the legs. With different diameters and heights, the tables can be combined with each other to create colourful islands. Made with Arpa’s Colorsintesi surfaces, they offer different chromatic options. These include: Verde Matiki, Maggese, Rosso Carminio, Verde Matiki and Verde Modo.
ZEUS Noto
ZEUS Noto – Italian design studio founded by Maurizio Peregalli in 1984 – presents two pairs of coffee tables with different Arpa surfaces, suitable for both residential and hospitality environments. “Lara & Dara” by Ron Arad consists of a duo with a complementary shape. The lower one (Dara) enhances the oxidation effect with Firecoat decor combined with Luna finish.
“Bibì & Bibò” pair also includes two coffee tables of different heights, available with stone-effect tops: Marble Guatemala in Urban finish (Bibì) and Pulpis Light in Luna finish (Bibò).
“Arpa materials emphasise the industrial effect that ZEUS wants for its products. Lara & Dara and Bibì & Bibò, with their surfaces finished down to the smallest details, elegantly and decisively complete the environment they are placed in,” says the studio.
