On Tap: Refresh Your Nest! Interior design trends for spring 2023

A new season is a perfect time to show your home some love and ‘refresh your nest’! Here are some of the top interior design trends for the 2023 spring season which offer simple yet stylish ways to spruce up your space, brought to you by On Tap, the home of beautiful bathrooms and kitchens.

Complementary Colours

A key foundation of interior design is the pairing of complementary colour hues. A key consideration when choosing these colours is to ensure one colour boosts the vibrance of the other colour chosen (and of course vice versa). Complementary colours are those found opposite each other on the colour wheel and the two colours identified as top trends for Spring 2023 are honeycomb and indigo which, when paired together, will undoubtedly add a vibrancy to any room!

Play With Geometrics

A season change is a perfect opportunity to experiment with bold prints that complement the classics… think geometric patterns, check prints or gingham! These prints can offer an effortless way to bring some personality into your space, easily achieved through linens, soft furnishings, accessories and rugs which are easily interchangeable and can be rotated in different spaces to suit every season.

Be Inspired By Boho

Take inspiration from the boho eras and create a nostalgic space filled with ambience. Key elements here include layering with textures, patterns and colours, complemented with abundant greenery and natural wooden furniture. Complete the look with floor or table lighting to offer gentle lighting that creates a calming atmosphere and exudes tranquillity.

Add A Little Romance

Romanticise your home and opt for sorbet shades for your décor, such as pastel pinks, yellows and greens. Add some fresh flowers and floral prints, and don’t be scared to bring in some lace and frills too to enhance that dreamy look.  Showing your personality is integral too with this trend, and this can be achieved by ‘clustering’ your favourite things as a display… from candles to frames to trinkets and books. Go on… add that bit of romance!

Statement Tiles

Nothing makes a statement more than contrasting floor or wall tiles in your bathroom or kitchen! Traditionally, tiles were seen as being more of a functional element. They were viewed as something that had to blend into the rest of the space. Whereas now, tiles are being used to create statement features. What’s more, they are becoming monumental in influencing the overall design aesthetic of the space. Be adventurous and experiment with shape, colour, and pattern. Inject some character into the room and make the ultimate style statement!
