Plascon House Tour: Charming Australian Abode

The minimalist Scandi style of this charming Australian residence is modern and beautiful – complete with muted tones, a playful mix of textures and a simple, uncluttered interior.

The living room boasts a sumptuous grey corner sofa system in natural linens with a mux of scatters that add a beautiful textural quality to this space. A rustic coffee table gives the room a raw edginess, complete with natural earthenware on the table that adds to the natural, Scandinavian ambience of this home. We also love the simplistic use of a floating shelf above the sofa, filled with framed prints in neutral shades that does not overwhelm the space. Instead, it adds character and completes the overall feel of this clean, uncluttered living room. The colour scheme of greys, white and brown continue into the bedroom where gorgeous leather-styled pillows and bedding add intrigue here – we love the look and feel that the soft leather provides in this Scandi space. The choice of a metal lampshade suspended above the bed again adds to the playful mix textures in this home, and we love the reflective, urban feel of this lampshade in this space. A simple grey stripe separates the wall behind the bed, adding depth here. The kitchen feels cosy and rustic, complete with white panelled ceiling and a vintage oven that takes prime position in this space. Open shelving fills the adjacent walls, adding to the minimalist feel of this space while simple white light pendants and a rustic concrete floor add to the vintage look and feel of this room. The Scandi vibe continues into the other bedrooms. Here the exposed wooden beams have been left untouched, providing a wonderful feature in this space, in direct contrast with the white ceiling and walls. Touches of beige and brown are added in small doses, in natural linens on the bed, towelling and even a rustic lighing cord hanging from the ceiling. With an ensuite bathroom just in reach, this is an idyllic restful retreat. The showstopper is most certainly this gorgeous bathroom, kitted out to perfection with a freestanding vintage tub, rustic flooring and crisp white interior. We love the use of white wooden shutters that can be opened to welcome the outside world in, as just as easily closed for convenience. Contact: Plascon photography: lisa cohen Via
