6 Tips for Designing a Patio Perfect for Entertainment

Are you sick and tired of your patio being overgrown with weeds and being completely useless? Well, then it’s high time you did some remodeling and turned that neglected part of your backyard into a true oasis of peace and fun. Additionally, your deck should no longer be just a simple outdoor seating area, but it can serve a variety of functions instead. In order to help you transform your patio into a dreamy little getaway, we have singled out a few design tips which will help you get inspired. Let’s take a look.

The outdoor living room

When the warmer weather arrives, the whole family just wants to go outside and have a blast in the fresh air. Having this in mind, you can equip your patio with a wrought iron lounge, a wicker armchair and an accompanying glass coffee table with scented candles on top to recreate the inviting feel of your living room. Additionally, if it tends to get a little chilly during the evenings, you can invest in a compact fireplace which you can position in the centre of your patio and make a circular seating arrangement perfect for all sorts of gatherings. Lastly, you can also take the living room idea a level further and opt for a movie projector with a large canvas for those laid-back movie nights with family and friends.

The game room

If you and your loved ones enjoy playing board games or different sports, why not turn your patio into an exciting game room? You can start by investing in a large custom-made table which can seat a decent amount of people and has slots for drinks so that you don’t accidentally spill something on the board. Alternatively, if you’re all into pool, table tennis or pinball, before you bring them out, you’ll first need to build a roof for the patio to prevent the rain from spoiling all the fun. To top it all off, feel free to create an outdoor bar so that you don’t have to rush inside for refreshments every few minutes.

Dinner is served

More and more people are changing their backyard spaces into glamorous dining areas. If you love the sound of this and your family enjoys cooking, feel free to turn your patio into a beautiful outdoor kitchen where you can prepare meals for birthday parties and other exciting occasions. For instance, you can invest in a stone stove that will be perfect for preparing all your favorite recipes and an adjacent marble countertop on which you can slice and dice your ingredients. Furthermore, if you live in a region famous for barbecuing, you should definitely build a charcoal grill so that you can get the best smoky flavors for your patties and veggies.

The kid’s corner

Since children simply love playing on the patio with their friends during the summer, you can turn this space into their favorite little amusement park. For example, if you have wooden backyards walls, you can hang several chalkboards on them and let your children spend hours drawing their art pieces. On top of that, they need to be physically active all the time and building them a jungle gym with monkey bars and balance beams will show them how much you care about their needs. Moreover, we all know that kids go absolutely crazy for tree houses, so if you really want to spoil them, you should absolutely go for it.

The spot for your body and soul

The majority of people enjoy going to yoga classes and gyms, but most of the time these places are too far to visit every day. For this reason, we suggest turning a part of your patio into your very own workout space. All you’ll need is a multi-purpose workout station, weights and dumbbells. On the other hand, if you prefer yoga and meditation, you’ll only need to buy mats and bring out a CD player for your meditation music. Finally, make sure to call your friends over and book a yoga instructor since it’s always better to have company.

Patio wellness and relaxation

Last but not least, transforming your patio into a fun spa and wellness spot will definitely sweep everyone off their feet. You can start by installing a hot tub where you can unwind with friends over a couple of drinks and share your stories. For a truly rejuvenating experience, you can install a swim spa which incorporates numerous features such as hydrotherapy and massaging jets. These will treat every muscle and bone in your body until you feel truly re-energized. It’s time you learnt how to pamper yourself!
