If you look at the meaning of the colour green in detail, it quickly becomes clear that green is perceived as an emotionally positive colour. It stands for freshness, and vitality and is considered a symbol of nature and fertility.
Green evokes associations such as renewal, growth and freedom. We often associate green with happiness, hope and contentment. Since green is the colour of nature, it has a particularly relaxing effect on the human eye, has a balancing impact on the psyche and is said to bring body and mind into harmony.
When including green shades in your designs you can make a big difference to a person’s motivation, identity, and productivity, may it be with fabrics, plants, or paint. Whether at home, in a formal or open plan office, retail or commercial space, various shades of green can increase productivity, encourage, and support a healthy lifestyle, in our days mostly associated with Green Living. Hence the idea to make Wood & Wall finishes not based on the raw material crude oil, a very finite source, but to make coatings from organic matter that is sustainable, non-toxic yet functional and comparative to conventional coatings. In 1997 Bernhard aka The Green Chemist, started ProNature in Cape Town focusing on coatings made from sustainable ingredients.
The carefully sourced raw materials derive from natural and easily renewable resources. The colours are created with only mineral pigment and plant-based polymers, which are harvested sustainably and are a safe alternative to conventional synthetic systems.
