Plascon House Tour: A vintage-inspired Barn Renovation
A desire for beautiful views across open countryside and a longing to live in a period property were what sealed the deal for the owners of this stunning Oxfordshire residence that is actually a barn conversion. It is the ideal rural retreat with a converted barn in the middle of a tranquil farming hamlet, within the scenic Oxfordshire countryside.
A rich blue velvet couch is without a doubt the focal point in the living room, complementing the rustic light blue server that lines the back wall. We love how the owners chose to keep some of the original architecture from the barn, with a striking natural stone wall that is a feature in this space. The furniture is reminiscent of ancient Paris with beautifully adorned mirrors and detailed accent pieces in a neutral colour scheme. A stunning map fabric on the armchair speaks of travels and adventure – a sign of the owners’ personal expeditions and style! A rustic, country-style kitchen adds to the period style of the home. We love the use of a vintage wooden sofa on the one end of a distressed dining table. The overall look is traditional and homely. Similarly, the bedroom oozes a classic French style with a patterned floral print that dominates in the space. A combination of grey and sepia tones, with soft off-whites, creates a sophisticated scheme in the master bedroom. Simple, distressed bedside tables complete the look.
