Plascon House Tour: Spanish Sunshine Villa
This Spanish family home in Ines is filled with sunlight and a jovial vibrant energy – a lively lived-in space where three children are as much a part of the decorating team as the professionals and home owners.
Outdoor and indoor living seem to merge beautifully here and large windows and entryways lead straight to an open patio and lush green gardens. The view of the outside is impeccable and enticing; drawing our attention outdoors and hinting at the owner’s own love and appreciation of nature. A number of potted plants throughout the abode also bring the outside indoors and complement the natural tones and earthy vibe within the home. A calming, neutral colour palette is used throughout the home, with beiges, browns and off-whites making up the bulk of just about every room. High ceilings with exposed wooden beams add to the grandeur of the space. Wooden floors and furniture, oak finishes and natural woven materials and rugs all add depth and warmth in a deco chic country kind of way.
Then we have subtle pops of vibrant colour – bright yellow scatter cushions and potted greenery that hint at the joyful Spanish sunshine. The living room is airy and inviting. Sheer window treatments allow for ample light and space to linger throughout this open-plan area. We love the use of layered rugs with plush textiles that include a number of cosy-looking throws positioned on the couches. Together with the generous use of scatter cushions, this room is the epitome of comfort and family living. The main bedroom too is a play of light and texture. Layered blankets and neutral linens bring calm and comfort to this room. Woven baskets and rattan light fittings are found in various rooms – from the living room and bedroom through to the bathroom. The outdoor patio area also boasts two beautifully detailed woven tables that are the focal points in this space. Furthermore, we love the children’s room where colour adds life and personalised artwork proudly adorn the walls. The bunk beds and customised children’s furniture make this the ideal space for little ones to enjoy their freedom. Overall, this house is inviting and spacious – the ideal family home with a mix of textures, neutral tones and an abundance of natural light.
