Plascon House Tour: Sophisticated Swedish Home
Scandinavian inspired design remains characterized by simplicity, minimalism and functionality. These three key elements are evident in this sophisticated yet restrained Swedish residence.
Colour is kept low key in true Scandinavian design. Minimalist colours are the prime choice here – with no overembellished or dominant tones. In this Swedish living space, you quickly get the idea that neutral shades are what creates the ideal soothing Scandi chic retreat. An introduction of soft textures add a richness to this room, from a fur pile seat to a soft area rug and soft throws scattered throughout. The white walls, wooden floors and simple arrangement of furniture are all intrinsic of Scandi chic style. We love this little entrance table and seat in one – complete with sleek white seating in true minimalist fashion. A gorgeous black and white abstract painting adds depth to this space, in keeping with the colour palette of neutrals, of course. The high ceilings in the dining room are magical, enhanced by the fascinating use of lighting. The abstract curves and shape of this modern feature light make a bold statement in this room and draws our eyes down towards the main table – with minimal decor and kept sleek, simple and sophisticated with eight matching seats. The bedroom too is beautifully sleek in neutral shades and minimalist style. Simplicity is key here although a bespoke light fitting again adds a touch of drama and appeal, emphasising the high ceilings and grandeur of this space. The subtle golden tone is carried through to the curtain rail, lending the room a wonderful sense of luxury which is further echoed through a gorgeous velvet black end-of-bed seat for added comfort.
