Plascon House Tour: Scandi Love in a Barn
We have seen many exceptional barn renovations over the past year, but we could not conclude 2017 without this one – a beautiful, modern, light and sophisticated barn conversion that is gorgeous in a simple Scandinavian style.
Originally a cowshed, the barn was converted into a four-bedroom home in 2000. Since then, the owners have added a garden room, playroom and a green-oak garage, with an upstairs gym. What more could you want! The mix of tactile fabrics and vintage finds makes this hallway an inviting space to curl up in with a book. Plenty of seating and a roaring wood burner ensure that this light, open space is also cosy for festive get-togethers. Red and white is a recurring palette in the couple’s home and the tree decorations are no exception. Their Scandi-style, handmade appeal adds plenty of traditional charm. The kitchen too feels spacious and appealing in neutral shades that work wonderfully to bring balance and a soothing presence in this room. A glorious kitchen island takes centre stage in this ‘heart of the home’. Rustic dining is the order of the day with a beautiful vintage wooden table and benches that ooze character. Hints of green and red are subtle yet present here and we love the metallic star that hints at Christmas – standing proud on display on the main wall. With so many living spaces, this home is perfect for entertaining. Here a comfy L-shaped sofa is a perfect addition to fill the space, with a gorgeous rug to soften and add depth to this wooden interior. A daybed is a welcome addition in the bedroom – which offers versatility as a seating solution and spare room for when guests come over. Contact: Plascon VIa
