Plascon House Tour: Eclectic Villa
This home is a smorgasbord of old and new; the perfect mix of antique finds and modern design trends that have created a lovely warm, layered residence.
This 1908 villa in Malmo, Sweden, was painstakingly renovated over three years. While many elements of the 110 year old house were refurbished (roof, electrical, windows, floors), the owner didn’t fill her home with the typical midcentury Scandinavian pieces we all know (and love) but instead furnished it with one of a kind antiques, flea market finds and repurposed pieces. Yet, the final look feels anything but dated. In fact, everything finds its place in this eclectic and layered interior. From gorgeous greenery and plant life to a vintage sideboard and chaise lounger. We also love the parquet flooring and antique crown moulding around the ceiling that add charm to this space. In the dining room, a vintage white painted table is paired with rustic dark wood benches that add to the eclectic feel of this space. The intricate details of this vintage find speaks of an era long gone and brings a sense of history and vintage charm to an otherwise neutral room. A modern white globe as light fitting creates a stunning contrast here. The living room is comprised of a full-length bookshelf system like a library which adds depth and interest to this space, creating a beautifully homely and inviting environment. A striking light pendant as feature breaks with the traditional look and feel of the library wall and yet two modern sofas bring in warmth and comfort here with an array of scatters. We love the many different seating areas created by the owner including this inviting area which contains two occasional chairs and a textured rug set against a stunning crystal chandelier that without a doubt, steals the show here. The grey walls add to the warmth of this layered space. Contact Plascon Via
