Plascon House Tour: Duplex Living in Copenhagen
Today’s house tour takes us inside a playful art deco home where colour, art and energy are the order of the day! Based in Copenhagen, this duplex apartment is abuzz with vibrancy, from colourful furniture to oversized contemporary art on the walls – we love the creative spirit that oozes out of every room.
This residence is far from boring – instead, there is an authenticity in colour and life that flows from this creative home. A loft style living area is beautifully decked out in different playful shades. We love the library wall on the far end of the room, further adding to the mix of colours and energy in this eclectic space. A clever use of statement rugs is evident in many of the rooms. In the dining room, the rug is a showstopper in tones of orange and red that further blends in with the warmer tones captured in a modern art deco wall feature in bold red. A playful mix of chairs and colours add interest here and who can ignore the other-worldly globe chandelier that takes prime position in this contemporary dining room. The bedroom is somewhat more calming with muted tones and a simple feature wall in shades of peach that add warmth to an otherwise white interior. Gorgeous black hardwood flooring also makes a statement and we love the subtle incorporation of pattern in the checkered bedding and abstract Paul Klee wall painting. Traditional white French doors are simply beautiful here – and complimentary of the white wooden beams and white loft ceiling that are both timeless and classic. Colour and art also extends into the bathroom where an aqua shower (in bold subway tiles) steals the show. Against a black tiled floor, the blue jumps out at you in a glorious display of colour. And a simple arrangement of art, with coloured glass vases, adds to the vibrancy of this modern bathroom. A minimalist sink keeps things simple and clean amid a white interior that creates the perfect balance between playful colour and a blank canvas. A rustic wooden stool further adds a vintage touch here. Contact: Plascon Via
