House Tour: The Nest
At first glance, we see an adoration of seashells, wicker, wood, thatch and weaves. It already has our attention for it’s use of complementary materials. Freedom and finesse are the two main ingredients for this nest: a home for solitude, for love and for hosting. Our favourite pieces have to be the leather upholstered armchairs in the lounge, liken to the SanKhoi artistry of the very beginnings of the ‘bushman’. The leather, studded from the back and wrapped underneath is modern, authentic and evokes a story. The ottoman centres the space by adding a different shape, as the surrounding furniture is hardened in its linear compositions. Goes to show how simple selections make the best layout.
