Inside Keli Madrid: Rockwell Group Creates a Restaurant That Feels Like Home

In the heart of Madrid’s elegant Salamanca neighbourhood, Rockwell Group Madrid has unveiled the interiors for Keli, a new restaurant that reimagines hospitality through the lens of home, storytelling, and cultural identity. Conceived for restaurateur Kike Sierra, the 600-square-metre, three-storey destination unfolds not as a traditional restaurant, but as a richly layered residence filled with art, memory, and moments of discovery.

The name itself sets the tone. “Keli” is a colloquial Spanish word for home, while “vente a mi keli” translates loosely as “come to my house”. This idea became the foundation of the design, inspiring Rockwell Group to create a space that feels like the home of a worldly and well-travelled host, where each room reveals a different chapter of a personal story.

Throughout the restaurant, bold colours and geometric forms draw inspiration from the vibrant visual language of Pedro Almodóvar’s films. Rich materials, bespoke furnishings, layered textures, mirrors, and curated artworks combine to create interiors that feel simultaneously intimate, playful, and cosmopolitan.

Each floor offers a distinct experience. The ground floor acts as the social heart of Keli, with a welcoming kitchen, library bar, and lounge designed to encourage gathering and conversation. Restored Versailles parquet flooring, communal tables, custom lighting, and carefully curated objects contribute to an atmosphere that feels warm and lived-in.

The second floor adopts a more intimate mood, featuring richly coloured dining spaces, dramatic drapery, a cork-clad wine cellar, and portraits celebrating Spanish cultural figures. Below, the basement transforms into a world of leisure, music, and play, where hidden rooms, velvet-lined walls, and immersive materials create a theatrical environment designed for evening entertainment.

Art remains central throughout the experience. Site-specific murals, contemporary illustrations, photography, and commissioned works by Spanish and international artists transform Keli into a living gallery, reinforcing the narrative woven through every room.

The result is a restaurant that feels less like a commercial venue and more like an invitation into a beautifully curated home. Through its domestic narrative, integrated art programme, and layered design language, Rockwell Group Madrid has created a destination where hospitality becomes storytelling and every space offers a new reason to linger.
