1.Use Brick Clips

Perhaps the easiest way to hang art up on a brick wall, is by making use of brick clips. They simply clip on to the brick and allow you to instantly put up lightweight décor. These are a really great option because you don’t have to drill any holes and damage the brick or mortar (which is perfect if you are renting). It is important to note that brick clips come in different sizes, so it is advisable to whip out that measuring tape and measure your brick height before purchasing these – you can get them on Amazon in a pack of 4.

2.Adhesive Hooks

If you’re prone to changing your mind often and rearranging things, then you might want to choose one of the less expensive ways to hang art on exposed brick walls, such as adhesive hooks. It’s as simple as peeling off the plastic backing and firmly applying the hook straight on to the wall. These days there is much more variety than you may think in the adhesive hook department, and adhesives can be used on a wider range of materials – brick included. Just be sure to check the packaging for recommendations on weight limits and choose hooks that are labelled ‘heavy duty’.

  1. Adding In Anchors

For a more permanent attachment that allows you to hang heavy pieces and provides ultimate durability, wall anchors are the perfect solution. To install these you’ll need chalk, a drill, a masonry bit, screws and a screwdriver.

Here’s a quick DIY breakdown:

First, mark the spot where you want to hang your art up with chalk, to make sure that you’re completely happy with the placement before drilling. Then secure a masonry bit to your drill. You can add some sticky tape to your masonry bit to help mark how deep you need to drill into the wall once you’ve measured the depth of your anchor.

When drilling, make sure you keep your drill at a right angle so that your anchor will remain straight once in place. Also, ensure that there are no wires or pipes behind the brick when drilling.

After you have drilled your hole, slide the anchor into it, making sure that it is flush with the wall. Now add your screw into the anchor and leave about half a centimetre of it sticking out so you have space to hang your artwork.
