Maldini Presents Pianca’s Peonia Collection
Peonia is the family of upholstered furniture designed by Cristina Celestino for Italian label, Pianca. Now available in South Africa from Maldini.
The Peonia Collection is a creative genesis close to the natural order of things, with volumes and geometries inspired by the natural world. In an exchange and voids and of enveloping heights and layers, the forms of the Peonia collection are reminiscent of the corolla of a flower unfurling in a dynamic, refined and evocative crescendo.
Consisting of a sofa, a chaise-longue and an armchair, the Peonia collection stands out for its shell made up of different layers. The various heights and proportions of the volumes are enhanced by enveloping, textural upholstery in a continuum of colours and textures in the base and seat, while the modular geometries lend themselves to the creation of a variety of configurations.
Designed by Cristina Celestino – who renews her collaboration with Pianca after having debuted with the Calatea armchair – the Peonia collection stems from a precise and rigorous approach to design. Peonia is available in various finishes ranging from leather – natural or imitation – to fabrics, including the new Green versions made from recycled yarns. The base plinth can be chosen in Nero matt lacquer or matching the upholstery.
What’s more is that we love the shape of Peonia – it’s glorious form speaks to a delicate nature yet the pieces are bold and sturdy and stand in juxtaposition to the initial impression of delicacy.
Now you can find the latest Peonia Collection from Pianca available at Maldini.
