Woolies Homeware Welcomes Exciting New Design Brands

Our homes have always been our havens, and even more so over the last two years. We are spending more time creating spaces that are not only stylish but aesthetically calming, incorporating furniture that is able to combine beauty and function simultaneously.

There is a definite shift that is seeing more wood and natural materials coming into the home with longevity and sustainability at the fore. As a result, we’re seeking solutions that can grow or evolve as our needs do.

It is with this in mind that Woolies has introduced a locally manufactured and highly crafted outdoor furniture range designed exclusively by the renowned studio, Anatomy Design, and a range of mostly work-from-home-inspired furniture solutions from Native Décor (both are available online only).

In addition to these two South African brands, FLEXA – a unique Danish children’s furniture brand designed to follow children through the years – is also available exclusively at the Woolworths Willowbridge store with a small selection of play items available online.

ANATOMY DESIGN FOR WOOLWORTHS

Anatomy Design is an internationally celebrated South African furniture design studio that has found success with its timeless design pieces. Together with Woolies, a series of three perennial products has been carefully produced offering a great value proposition. The range features a plant stand, an outdoor armchair and a side table, combining noir and natural hues.

The team at Anatomy Design has focussed their designs to be heirlooms with a marriage of practicality and beauty. Each piece is crafted locally and is 100% proudly produced in South Africa.

NATIVE DÉCOR

The story of Native Décor is an authentically homegrown one about an individual who started with very little and created a successful business through passion and grit. Vusani Ravele started his business as a part-time hobby from his living room in 2015 and now employs almost 20 people.

Native Décor creates both innovative and functional interior pieces, using sustainable timber. Their minimalist style, which underpins all of their designs, is mostly inspired by our beautiful country, South Africa.

With our current work-from-home way of living, Woolies has sought out furniture solutions that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but driven by function, form and design. The offering features a leaning writing desk and matching shelf, as well as a coat stand and mirror. The option of a hanging or standing pot planter by Native Décor will see nature being effortlessly incorporated into your home.

FLEXA

FLEXA is a unique Danish children’s furniture brand combining design and a high standard of safety and quality.

Children and their changing needs lie at the heart of what FLEXA does and their products are designed and developed based on their experience and extensive knowledge of this area. Their collections – focusing on Sleep, Play and Study – are innovative and made with long lasting materials which can be reconfigured as your child grows and their needs evolve.

Evoking playfulness and imagination, FLEXA’s children’s chairs, stools, and play tables, as well as pretend-play furniture, and toys, which echo the brand’s minimalist Danish design, were introduced at Woolworths Willowbridge store recently and has been available online from 30 May 2022.
