Widmer + Co: Fine Furniture
Purveyors of fine furniture, Widmer + Co prides itself on its range of premium, locally made furniture.
Established by the Widmer brothers in 2015, the Johannesburg-based company’s focus squarely falls on quality, locality and sustainability.
“Our handcrafted production process uses a wide range of locally sourced materials that are transformed into durable life-enriching pieces,” explains the company.
The functional, modern and light pieces are specifically designed for people on the move. The clean-cut designs can easily be incorporated into an existing scheme or used as the basis for a new one.
As the company notes: “Widmer + Co is designed by a young design team that is excited about designing innovative products to transform living spaces.”
As such, the bespoke furniture line is specifically aimed at design-savvy clients looking to create an exceptional loft, apartment or office space.
Widmer+Co’s extensive offering includes tables, desks, sofas and chairs, lamps and decorative items such as coat stands.
In fact, their King George Coat Stand, along with the Sexy Lady Coat Hanger are some of their most popular items.
Other best-selling items include the “Nest II” Coffee Table, which was inspired by the architectural marvel of the 2008 Beijing Olympic track and field stadium and the sexy Two Lips Chair, available in a wide range of funky colours.
Then there’s also the contemporary Four Step Up display unit — a unique and beautifully designed shelving unit made out of wood, steel and glass, and the simple yet stylish Five Roses Coffee Tray complete with small rubber feet to keep it from sliding around or scratching your kitchen counter.
