Rugiano Novelties 2026 Redefine Sculptural Luxury at Salone del Mobile

In contemporary interiors, true luxury is increasingly defined not by excess, but by craftsmanship, materiality, and emotional presence. Few brands embody this philosophy with the same sculptural confidence as Rugiano, a name that continues to blur the boundaries between furniture, architecture, and collectable design. Represented exclusively in South Africa by BITALIAN, the Italian house once again reaffirmed its mastery at Salone del Mobile 2026 through its Novelties 2026 collection.

At the centre of the collection lies Rugiano’s philosophy of Dialoghi di Materia – “Dialogues in Material” – where marble, bronze, leather, and lacquer are treated not simply as finishes, but as elements in conversation with one another. Across the collection, sculptural forms, softened geometry, and refined metalwork create pieces that feel simultaneously architectural and deeply tactile.

The Artemis Table captures this balance particularly elegantly. Fluid sculptural legs support a marble or lacquered top with remarkable visual lightness, transforming the dining table into a statement of rhythm and proportion rather than pure function. Nearby, the Hatton Sofa reimagines contemporary comfort through generous curves and modular softness, encouraging a more relaxed and social approach to living. Meanwhile, the Vortex Coffee Table introduces movement into the room itself, its spiral-inspired base and reflective surfaces shifting subtly throughout the day as light changes across the interior.

What distinguishes Rugiano, however, extends far beyond form alone. Each piece reflects an atelier culture rooted in meticulous craftsmanship and material precision. Bronze is hand-cast and brushed by artisans, marble is selected for both texture and tonal dialogue, and leatherwork is executed with near couture-level detail. In an increasingly digital design landscape, this devotion to the handmade feels both rare and quietly radical.

The 2026 collection also signals a softer evolution within the brand’s design language. Silhouettes feel more fluid, tones warmer, and proportions calmer, while still retaining the sculptural clarity that has long defined Rugiano’s identity.

Through BITALIAN, these pieces now find resonance within South African interiors, where open-plan living, natural light, and tactile materiality create the perfect setting for Rugiano’s architectural approach to contemporary luxury.
