Maldini Luxury Italian Furniture
Luxury Italian furniture maker Catellan Italia recently held a preview of its 2023 collection.
Built around a slow-design approach, the pieces are designed to be lingered over and appreciated from year to year as it gets rediscovered in a new light, a new context. As the company notes: “A good design comes into being in a precise moment and context, but it must have the attributes to last a lifetime along with chameleonic versatility.” Some of the most stand-out, timeless and detail-focused designs in the new collection include the Scott table with its oxybrass base, which simultaneously compliments and contrasts with the refined marble tabletop.
Then there’s also the new Yoda Argile table. “Our most requested round table now also includes the spatulated clay top,” says the company, explaining that the use of the organic material is part of its commitment to sustainable design.
In terms of seating, two unique pieces stood out during the preview for their uniqueness and functionality: the Miranda with an “elliptical hole on the backrest, an inimitable shape enriched by curves and sartorial ripples” and the Rachel chair range with its distinctive seat cushion framed by a padded border with tailored details.
Then there’s also the cleverly designed Cremona, which pulls double duty as both a sideboard and a bar thanks to its vertical sliding mechanism and alternating shelves, as well as the very special Ohay lamp.
“We designed the Ohay lamp, a decorated glass sphere crafted with the ancient balloton glass manufacturing technique. It is our tribute to the tradition of Venetian glassmaking art, which is consistent with the main characteristic of our production, namely being 100 percent Made in Italy,” concludes Catellan Italia of the exciting new range of products.
Cattelan Italia is locally available at Maldini.
