Maldini: Cattelan Italia’s stylish collection

Side tables may be small, but their impact on interior design is anything but. These often-overlooked gems are the unsung heroes of a beautifully curated space, marrying style and functionality in the most effortless way. With their ability to enhance a room’s aesthetic, create balance, and serve as a chic stage for your most treasured decor pieces, side tables are where design and practicality meet in perfect harmony. Whether placed beside a sumptuous sofa or nestled next to a plush bed, the right side table doesn’t just complement your furniture – it completes your space, adding an irresistible touch of elegance and utility.

For a versatile selection of designer pieces, look no further than Cattelan Italia’s stylish collection of side tables in an array of shapes, sizes, and materials.

Some of the Italian luxury furniture brand’s most striking designs include:

Albert Keramik

The Albert Keramik modern round coffee tables and their square version Albert Keramik S bring style and sophistication to any designer living room. Consisting of two simple shapes placed one on top of the other, these designer coffee tables find their fullest expression when placed side by side at different heights and sizes. The play of tops on several levels lends dynamism to any environment furnished with understated elegance, in which these modern ceramic coffee tables become the stars. The conical metal base designed by Giorgio Cattelan appears to be bulky but has a slender silhouette thanks to two diagonal details that suggest two rolled and overlapping steel plates. The ceramic top can be customised, with a choice of round versions or the square ceramic coffee table model with rounded corners, as well as a variety of elegant and luxurious shades with marble-effect veining. The balance between simplicity and attention to detail makes the Albert family elegant and essential designer coffee tables.

Arena

The line of Arena design coffee tables completes a modern and elegant living room, highlighting the precious hand-brushed finish. Skilled craftsmen print delicate and imperceptible scratches to create a weft and warp pattern. The designer Yasuhiro Shito has thought of every detail for a result with a strong aesthetic impact that doesn’t neglect the functionality of a spacious countertop. This modern coffee table comes in three models. Arena is a round model that can be complemented by one or two rotating round glass coffee tables that flank the main top: Arena Bond and Arena Double Bond. The elongated model is Arena Long, also available in the Arena Long Bond version. The column of the Bond glass coffee table is lacquered in the same hand-worked finish as the main top. On the contrary, the Arena Keramik Bond coffee table features a main tabletop in a choice of several shades of majestic marble-effect ceramic.

Atari

Atari, designed by Giorgio Cattelan, is a glass coffee table for the living room with a base formed by a spiral of balanced wooden elements, on which a splendid glass top rests. The eight legs of this square or round modern coffee table are made of fine wood and appear to simply lean against each other, like a Mikado. In addition to being original, the composition is made prestigious by the excellent manufacturing and the attention to detail. The transparent glass top allows you to fully appreciate the beauty of the base. In the larger version, the base is duplicated, as is the charm of the rectangular glass table as a whole.

Dodo

The Dodo blown glass coffee table is made using the ancient Balloton technique, characteristic of the traditions of the Murano master glassmakers. The body of the Dodo glass coffee table features a three-dimensional pattern of criss-crossing rhombi, obtained from a metal mould. As a result of blowing, the tips inside the mould shape the molten glass and produce the characteristic facetted effect of the balloton process. In the upper part, a mandala pattern is created, slightly off-centre at the point where the mould’s rhombi join, creating a pattern that resembles flower petals or the perfect patterns of Buddhist tradition with which nature expresses its magnificence.
The optical effect is spectacular, further accentuated by the violet shades in the smoked crystal. The three supports that form the legs have a sharp appearance that contrasts with the roundness of the designer table. This detail also contributes to the overall effect of retro flair adapted to the contemporary style. This coffee table is an expression of the magnificence of handcrafted glasswork.

Pancho

The Pancho family consists of eclectic and visionary modern coffee tables. The round shape recalls a precious mineral, and the hand-brushed finish forms a textured design inspired by nature. Pancho is a steel side table suitable for placing next to armchairs and sofas to support lamps and decorative elements; it embellishes a modern living room with a disruptive design. The three models, with different forms, may be combined as desired to create your ideal personalised composition.
