Knoppie Table Collection by Haldane Martin | Contemporary Craftsmanship & Refined Simplicity
With its softly rounded form and subtle, sculptural detailing, Knoppie is Haldane Martin’s latest expression of contemporary craftsmanship – a table collection where refined simplicity meets a playful edge. Taking its name from the Afrikaans word for “button,” the design is defined by raised bumps that dot the timber frame, adding a touch of personality to an otherwise harmonious silhouette.
The collection includes side, coffee, and dining tables, each available in three sizes and composed of curved Iroko timber frames paired with ultra-thin Dekton® surfaces. The contrast between materials is striking: the tactile warmth of the timber against the smooth, stone-like feel of Dekton creates a refined tension that elevates even the most functional of pieces.
Surfaces come in a choice of Marmorio, inspired by Travertino Navona with light, elegant striations; Grigio, a soft tonal grey; and Grafite, which channels the drama of fine-grained limestone. Timber components are finished in either Natural teak or Smoke grey, using Rubio Monocoat’s Hybrid Wood Protector to enhance the wood’s grain while offering lasting protection.
What sets Knoppie apart is its quiet confidence. It doesn’t shout for attention, yet its considered details – from the squircle shape to the interplay of texture and tone – draw you in. Perfectly suited for contemporary interiors that favour nuance over noise, this is furniture that feels both grounded and expressive. A reminder that in great design, it’s the smallest details that leave the most lasting impression.
