Burberry for breakfast?
An exciting colab to look out for this London Fashion Week is that between British fashion brand Burberry and Norman’s – an unpretentious cafe in Archway, North London.
The iconic fashion house will take over the cafe, which opened its doors in 2019 and offers a playful take on the greasy spoon concept, from 11 to 18 September, in anticipation of designer Daniel Lee’s A/W 2023 collection debut and to mark the start of its new project – Burberry Streets, a series of international takeovers that will centre on Lee’s now-signature Burberry blue.
Apart from the iconic blue hue decorating the restaurant and crockery featuring the house’s motif, diners can look forward to riffs on fried egg and chips, sausage and mash and beans on toast, as well as more elevated gourmet offerings that will no doubt be the most covetable breakfasts in London.
In addition, there will also be a “Burberry at Norman’s Cafe” food truck on The Strand and Duke of York Square for those who can’t make it to the cafe.
As part of the Burberry Streets project, Burberry’s “Equestrian Knight” symbol and Lee’s “English Rose” print will also be visible on everything from pathways to taxis across the city.
“We are so excited to see Daniel’s first collection arriving in-store and online,” says Rod Manley, CMO of Burberry. “With our redesigned website, new brand signifiers across product and branding and the launch of our global Burberry Streets initiative here in our home market, we’re looking forward to sharing the new Burberry world with our clients.”
