Mavromac: Pierre Frey
A riot of colour and pattern, Fantasy, the new collection by Pierre Frey, combines the elegance of the 50s with the free spirit of the 70s, blending modernity and tradition to create designs that are both joyful and graphic. Designed by Catherine Pierlovisi, the eclecticism of the weave and embroideries creates a sense of fantasy, where shapes and colours come to life in a subtle play of vibrations.
“Fantasy is a vibrant and joyful collection that captures the poetry, imagination, and expressive freedom of an era that shaped contemporary design. It pays tribute to the rich cultural landscape of the 1950s to the 1970s, decades marked by modernism, bold creativity, and artistic liberation,” says Catherine.
Her favourite design in the collection, the exquisite Farrah embroidery is entirely handcrafted with rope threads and matte ribbons, embracing a playful and free-spirited aesthetic. For the design, Catherine worked closely with the artisans, noting that “their expertise, curiosity, and creativity refine each material and technique to perfectly suit the design. This delicate, enriching dialogue transforms a vision into a fabric with soul, one that tells a story.”
Fantasy includes a vibrant selection of indoor and outdoor fabrics and rugs.
