Wallpaper Trends 2027: Graham & Brown Reveals Its Latest Designs
Eighty years of beautiful wallpaper, colour and craftsmanship is certainly something worth celebrating. And for its milestone anniversary, British design house Graham & Brown has looked to its rich decorative heritage for inspiration, unveiling its Design, Colour and Mural of the Year for 2027. Available in South Africa through Wallpaper Inn, the new designs blend historic influences, hand-painted artistry, and a fresh approach to decorating.
Leading the collection is Roselle Grove, the 2027 Design of the Year. Inspired by traditional Indian chintz, the botanical wallpaper celebrates a decorative style that dates back to the 16th century, when artisans created intricate floral patterns using hand-painting and block-printing techniques.
Hand-painted in gouache by Graham & Brown’s design studio, Roselle Grove combines delicate florals with the character of classic English decoration. The richly layered paint gives the design depth and texture, creating a beautiful interpretation of a centuries-old tradition.
Complementing the wallpaper is Rose Earth, Graham & Brown’s Colour of the Year. This soft, earthy pink draws on natural mineral pigments traditionally sourced from Italian clay deposits. Warm and wonderfully versatile, it pairs beautifully with neutral tones or cooler greens, bringing a gentle wash of colour to contemporary interiors.
Completing the trio is Red Rose County, the 2027 Mural of the Year. Inspired by Lancashire’s rolling countryside, where Graham & Brown has its roots, the mural features a stylised landscape depicting Rivington Pike and Jubilee Tower.
Hand-drawn by designer Victoria Davison, its expressive brushstrokes, blocks of colour and visible texture give traditional scenic wallpaper a contemporary twist.
Together, the three designs celebrate Graham & Brown’s appreciation for colour, pattern and craftsmanship, showing how historic influences can find a beautiful place in modern homes.
