Mavromac: G.O.A.T collection
Paying homage to the Greatest of All Time kilims and carpet stripes that form part of Andrew Martin’s DNA, the fabric house’s new G.O.A.T collection features popular classics alongside some striking new designs and colourways.
Commenting on the new collection, Andrew Martin says: “Kilims and carpet stripes have a rich history, rooted in traditional textile production across various regions, originating in Central Asia, with some of the oldest known examples dating back to the 4th or 5th century CE, whilst striped patterns in textiles have been found in ancient civilisations, including Egypt and Persia.
“These textiles often carry symbolic meaning, with patterns representing aspects of daily life, beliefs, and tribal identity. Techniques for kilim production have spread throughout the Middle East, North Africa, the Balkans, and parts of Europe, each region developing its distinct styles and motifs.”
“Today, kilims are appreciated worldwide for their artistic value and are used in both traditional and contemporary interior design. At Andrew Martin, we’ve long championed the use of these vibrant, intricate designs. We’ve been on a global quest for 45 years, uncovering exciting textiles and handcrafted cloths to share with our customers. We use them to upholster furniture, with popular examples being our Regal and Victoria chairs, Constantine ottoman and Sue sofa, and of course, we have a plethora of beautiful scatter cushions that add a bohemian or eclectic touch to spaces.”
The G.O.A.T collection features a rich selection of cushions and fabrics perfect for adding texture and visual interest to more formal schemes or adding a global or travelled feel to living spaces.
