 Incanda Fabric Collection

Known for its handmade leather furniture, homeware and accessories, you may be surprised to learn that Incanda’s wide range of couches, chairs and ottomans can also be upholstered in fabric.

To help clients choose the perfect fabric for their pieces, the company has launched a fabric library with a wide selection of colours, patterns and prints from some of South Africa’s leading fabric houses.

“This curated selection will help make choosing a fabric for a couch or chair fun and easy for clients,” says Incanda.

The collection includes a wide range of quality and cost-effective fabric options in a variety of colours and textures, as well as easy-to-clean, pet-and child-friendly fabrics and sustainable materials.

And while Incanda will always make leather items, the company says there are some advantages to choosing fabric upholstery over leather.

There are a lot more colour options

“When it comes to choosing a fabric colour, you also have a range of colour shades from which you can pick and choose. This means you can select the perfect shade of green to compliment the colour in a carpet, curtains, wallpaper, or scatters. Simply introducing the perfect shade of colour can really bring a space to life!”

You have the opportunity to mix and match colours, patterns and textures

“The woven nature of fabric allows for a mixing of colours, in either complementary or contrasting shades. Let’s say you have a lovely couch in deep, rich brown leather and you want to bring more warmth into a room, consider incorporating an occasional chair in lovely autumn colours – some reds, oranges, and maybe even some yellows.

“For the more adventurous types, there are some stunning patterned fabrics to choose from. One piece of furniture upholstered in a subtle or bold pattern can serve as the centrepiece of any room in the house.

“Fabrics also come in a variety of textures, from chunky and highly textured to soft and luxurious. This allows for a lot of freedom when it comes to creating an interesting, comfortable, and vibrant space.”

It’s warm and inviting

“Cool in summer, warm and cosy in winter – we are all drawn to the feel of a piece of fabric on our skin. Leather can be cold in winter and is sticky in humid weather while fabric is always comfortable, regardless of the season.”

You can set the budget

“Incanda offers a range of leather colours, all at the same price. With fabrics, you can determine how much you spend on a couch. Prices vary and our seasoned in-house decorators can help you find a fabric that not only suits your needs but your budget as well.”
