The Raw Workshop: Keeping It Real At The Homemakers Expo

It’s beautiful, it’s raw and it’s all about keeping it real with fresh home inspiration at the Homemakers Expo in Johannesburg, happening from 28 February until 3 March 2019.

Proudly brought to you by World of Decorative Concrete, the Raw Workshop will bring this year’s theme of Raw Comfort to life.

A celebration of raw products and the experts who work tirelessly to make them, the Raw Workshop will be a space where craftsmen tell the story of their raw products, demonstrate how to best work with them and display their final products.

Some of the demonstrations will include:

Smelt Glass Studio

Glass blowing is a rare, beautiful and skillful art that has mesmerised people for centuries. Smelt Glass Studio are bringing in the pros to show visitors how they make glass beads and displaying some of their functional, decorative and artistic blown glass pieces.

Elle Franco

The D.I.Y queen herself! The incredible Elle Franco will reveal her secrets on perfectly staining wood to match any style. This is sure to be a demonstration full of handy tips, fun and laughter.

World of Decorative Concrete

World of Decorative Concrete is the undisputed king of concrete. Visitors can join the WODC team as they teach all there is to know about concrete dipping, moulding, casting and even making concrete jewellery. Here visitors will get their hands a little dirty and make their own trendy decor pieces.

Natural Nerd

Raw comfort also includes a little self indulgence thanks to Natural Nerd. Visitors will find out about natural skin products, bath goodies and soaps that they can take home to have a relaxing soak after a fun day at Johannesburg HOMEMAKERS Expo.

Earthly Mosaics

Visitors will learn how to spice up their home without breaking the bank with Earthly Mosaics who will show them how to use stenciling to bring new life to walls, furniture and floors.

As an exciting interactive space, visitors to the expo will have a chance to use the latest concrete products while they make and take home their own concrete décor pieces with help from the World of Decorative Concrete team.

Visitors will also find themselves at the heart of the development of products that they dream and plan to have in their homes. Some of the raw products that visitors will get to know better in this theatre involve the making of steel creations, glass, wood, stencilling and of course the ever popular medium of cement.
