Poltrona Frau Residential project
A study in minimalism, luxury Italian furniture designer Poltrona Frau closely worked with Sevtract Design Studio to transform this three-story residence in Ningbo, China, into a sleek, modern residence.
Marked by Poltrona Frau’s signature timeless yet contemporary style, the home features classic interiors with a serene palette of neutral tones, in which different shades of cold and warm grey create a sombre and minimalistic atmosphere.
In the spacious living area, marble and leather dominate, lending an imposing yet refined character to the space. At its heart is the Let it Be modular sofa system, designed by Ludovica and Roberto Palomba. This iconic piece is a celebration of relaxation and comfort, embodying a rejection of conventional formality. Complementing the sofa is the Archibald armchair by Jean-Marie Massaud, another Poltrona Frau classic, featuring its signature soft folds and a welcoming silhouette.
The layout is completed with the Fiorile coffee table, featuring a luxurious marble top, and the Fidelio side table, both contributing to a seamless blend of form and function. Together, these pieces create a setting that balances modern aesthetics with a sense of warmth and intimacy.
The dining and kitchen area, meanwhile, is elegantly defined by a set of six Isadora chairs, designed by Roberto Lazzeroni. Wrapped in Pelle Frau Saddle Extra leather, their supple surface is treated with protective dye and wax, making them both luxurious and practical for dining spaces. Their sculptural design adds a touch of artistry to the otherwise clean-lined environment.
Here, as throughout the home, Poltrona Frau’s expert use of classic materials, such as leather and marble, creates an atmosphere that feels timeless yet fresh. Each piece reflects a commitment to craftsmanship, comfort, and visionary design, resulting in a space where every detail speaks to refined living. This collaboration beautifully encapsulates Poltrona Frau’s ability to meet and exceed expectations, transforming the house into a sanctuary of elegance and modern luxury.
Founded by Renzo Frau in 1912, Poltrona Frau has evolved over the years and today also includes the companies Ceccotti Collezioni, Janus et Cie, Luminaire, Karakter, Luxury Living Group, Interni and Zanotta, as well as Cassina and Cappellini.
Known for its outstanding design craftsmanship, the brand is lauded the world over for its exceptional innovation and quality, crafting contemporary classics for the modern home.
