Plascon House Tour: Vintage Funk
We have seen a number of innovative barn restorations over the past few months, but today’s eclectic abode is a powerful blend of vintage, industrial and modern styles. It’s white open spaces are pristine yet the choice of furniture with vintage pieces, potted plants and layered rugs make it a contemporary liveable space with a special, funky ambience.
Roll-up doors on either end of the large open plan living area are a stand-out feature in this space. Beautiful concrete flooring and white wooden ceilings add to the modern appeal of this American retreat. Plants add colour and freshness to the space. The inclusion of a fireplace and ceiling fan here, adds to the perfect choice of air circulation through the seasons.
The choice of furniture is a mix of eclectic and vintage finds. A large rustic dining table and upholstered seating fill the dining space. An antique brass pendant adds character here and pops against the white walls. Abstract artwork on the walls ties the colour scheme together, with hints of soft pinks and green that connect to the colours used in the dining chairs.
The kitchen has more of a modern farmhouse style with beautiful dark cabinets in a matte blue tone that adds energy to this space. We love the glass ball pendants above the countertop and modern white subway tiles that bring a contemporary look to this area of the home.
Open wooden shelving allows for added storage and a display of some of the owner’s colourful and curated pieces. Modern stainless steel appliances complete the look here.
