Mash T Design spent the last half of 2021 in collaboration with the team at Mbazo Safari Lodge. The lodge offers a luxury safari experience to guests in the heart of the Black Rhino Game Reserve, and interior accessories and pendants from Mash T Design do well to brighten up the lodge itself.

Set in a tranquil hideaway surrounded by the boundless green of the Pilanesberg Crater, you’ll find this luxe safari retreat. Here, wellbeing is shifted back into focus. In-suite spa therapies and yoga mats are readily available. Keep the doors open in perfect seclusion, enabling the soundtrack of birdsong to stream in.

This sensation of well-being isn’t restricted to massages and sun salutations; healthful food, luxurious accommodations, and personalized service subsequently round out the experience.

Get back to nature by appreciating the beauty and simplicity of raw materials. Paired with materials such as leather and wood, Mash T Designs’s deconstructed pendants are intricately woven. These are subsequently put together using mild steel, beads and drawcord. These beautifully complement the natural elements and colour palette found at the lodge.

Furthermore, bright side tables add a natural pop of colour and cheer both indoors and outdoors. Hand woven using Ilala palm, these side tables introduce a colourful tropical feel to this bush retreat.

The indoor-outdoor flow at Mbazo Safari Lodge offers the best of both worlds, complemented by Mash T Design’s Weaver’s Nests. These are subsequently inspired by timeless design that’s found in nature itself. The beaded nests create ambient lighting that gives the sense of getting back to nature in a perfect location, encouraging rest and relaxation.

Embracing the African safari experience are Mash T Design’s cone wall lamps, inspired by Umbaco. A celebration and appreciation of a traditional Xhosa motif, these light fittings add a traditional yet modern twist to the suites found in this luxurious haven in the wild.

The Liz pendants on display in the guest suites offer a beautiful combination of beads and drawcord, handwoven to create striking patterns that give lighting fixtures a distinct character.
