Imagenius Interiors Presents Bayview Terrace

This gorgeous 1892 Bayview Terrace Cottage is the Cape Town ‘home away from home’ for the owners who live abroad. Jacqui Hunter from Imagenius Interiors stepped in to help bring the interior visions to life.

The interior of the cottage has been decorated with a great sense of respect for the original building. It has a great collection of art and interesting pieces of furniture. These have been collected with great consideration and carefully curated. It is a real home, where objects tell stories. Furthermore, each space is created to enhance the sense of peacefulness.

A fresh look

The guest suite was recently refurbished. Furthermore, the bedroom was repainted and a pagoda added. The front garden was also retiled.

As with many houses of this age, all refurbs are more than you bargained for. So, the project was not without its challenges. The most important part is that, now complete, it looks as though it has always been that way. It fits!

The clients are thrilled with the fresh look in the main bedroom and refurbished guest room and bathroom. The pagoda outside will be the place where many al fresco dinners are enjoyed. Just imagine those balmy summer evenings overlooking the Waterfront and the Harbour!

This home embodies so many great attributes.  It has a sense of place. It tells a story, as does every piece of art and piece of furniture. The home is a peaceful retreat. Here guests can feel totally relaxed and at home.
