Step inside this stylish north London home, completely renovated to suit a modern family. The house is filled with interesting pieces – a funky mix of vintage, designer and pop art treasures.
The interesting thing about this home is that the owners were living in New York during the renovation process and many of the decisions were made via email. The home already had the bare-bones of a wonderful family home, but it was up to the owners to spruce things up and make it their own, even from thousands of miles away! And we’re pretty impressed with the finishing touches!
The home is filled with modern touched, from dark wood flooring to bold lighting and pops of artwork around various rooms. The kitchen is a large space with a beautiful marble island and metallic finish that adds a reflective quality to this space. Bold globe pendants are suspended above the island and add to the textural aesthetic of this room.
Seamless white cabinets are juxtaposed against a striking black marble backsplash. The contrast is quite refreshing and adds depth to the kitchen as a whole. Stainless steel appliances add a contemporary edge to this functional heart of the home.
A light filled dining room is fresh and appealing with modern touches. Light wood flooring, a contemporary table and chairs, as well as doors that lead outdoors, creates an inviting and refreshing interior for dining.
A mezzanine library adds colour and charm to this family home. Floor to ceiling bookshelves become home to a colourful collection of books. Dark cabinetry adds a little drama, and complements the dark wood flooring in this space. We love the mix of art in this area too – infusing a new energy into this room.
The master bathroom is sleek and sophisticated – an ideal place of luxury and cleansing, kitted out in white marble. The veins that run through the marble add to the interest of this space and gives the room a contemporary feel. Mackintosh shower fittings and basin taps by Lefroy Brooks add to the glam finishes in this space.
