Plascon House Tour: Monochromatic Magic

Today we take a quick glimpse into a beautiful and modern London retreat – a home filled with monochromatic magic!

There is something to be said about the power of simplicity in design. It is an art. And it could not be more evident as it is in this bold yet simple London home designed by architects from The Vawdrey House.

Swathes of concrete, patterned parquet, aged bare brick and high-shine lacquer mean that it’s the building itself that’s the most decorative element of the space.

This is an entertainer’s house – complete with indoor and outdoor spaces for maximum comfort and modern entertainment. Large glass sliding doors lead to an outdoor living space and garden – an extension of the interior. This creates a zen-like flow between the living area and the outdoors.

A large open-plan kitchen adds depth with rich wooden cabinetry and industrial black accents for a sleek and sophisticated ambience. A large kitchen island accommodates a big family and we love the glass sliding doors which bring a modern twist to a wall of wood cabinets. There is a beautiful blend of textures in this space – brushed oak, granite, stainless steel and brass accents.

The master bedroom is tucked away in a quiet corner of the home, creating the perfect retreat for the adults. It features a soft colour palette and a cute little window seat for optimal comfort in this room. Metallic accents add a little warmth and sophistication to this space. Golden honey-toned metal pops up in just the right amounts!

The children’s room is a magical space, complete with double bunk featuring added storage. A swing suspends from the ceiling and gives the room a playful edge.
