Plascon House Tour: A Simple Rustic Retreat

Today’s house tour takes us to north-west London where a simple flat oozes modern rustic appeal. A pared-back palette of putty colours, washed-out blues, wood and metal sets the tone for a contemporary home.

The Kitchen

Things are kept sleek and simple in the kitchen where bespoke cabinets are made from reclaimed floorboards in a classic vintage aged look. Quick-drying chalk paint brightens the space, which the owner says is a decorator’s dream due to its malleability. Repurposed items add to the style of this kitchen with piping fashioned into kitchen taps – perfectly suited to the overall style of this home.

The Living Room

The living space is beautifully simple and light. Various textures and materials are used together to create an intimate room for family living. Big comfy seating is ideal here. The room feels warm with mixed reclaimed pieces and hints of natural wood.

The Bedroom

A muted palette brings style to the master bedroom. Natural materials and muted shades create a seamless and functional room. We love the vintage and recycled finds in this space. The bedside table was handmade, using an old dolly tub and cut-down scaffold boards, then painted and waxed. The vintage Anglepoise lamp was found in a Cornish antique shop.

We love the simplicity of this gorgeous home. A streamlined and cocooned space to find rest from the bustle of everyday life.
