The right paint colour can enhance a room but knowing what palette to incorporate in a design is a key component to achieving a high-end look. Here we share some of our favourite colours to use in small rooms.

Lighter tones tend to reflect light and can actually help to make a smaller room feel more open. Keep it light and neutral with subtle tones that create a fresh and inviting ambience in your home. Pale colours, off-white, beige and even pastel shades are ideal and can easily give a small room a much-needed facelift. Try it out in a smaller bathroom or bedroom and watch your room transform into a bright, happier interior.

Brighter and whiter

White seems like an obvious choice for a fresh interior look. However, did you know that there are hundreds of variations of white tones on the market? Everything from ivory to eggshell and beige hints toward a white, bright and happy space.

So where do you even begin? Many paint colours have underlying shades like blue, green, red and even grey which is subtly introduced into the overall shade. This is true for many white tones too. But rest assured that whites are versatile and timeless. They have the power to make a room feel spacious and fresh. Simple, clean and classic, the best white paint colours stand easily on their own as a design element.

Pretty in Pastels

A collection of soft and soothing pastels are ideal as a backdrop on walls or as accent colours on furniture or trim. Whether it’s a soft pink or a subtle blue, a simple pastel shade is always a winner. A great choice for a smaller nursery or child’s room. Equally appealing in contemporary living spaces.

Grey

Neutral colours in medium tones give a space substance and style without overwhelming a small room. Paint the walls of a small living room or dining room a warm grey and immediately elevate your decor.

Darker shades

If you love dark, dramatic tones, then don’t shy away from it. Darker navy or emerald green can be eye-catching, even in a small room. Create a focal wall with a deep, saturated hue and let it become a talking point in your smaller space.
