Arguably South Africa’s most exclusive mixed-use precinct, Melrose Arch has attracted discerning residents with its promise of unparalleled Manhattan-style ‘live, work, dine, shop, stay, play’ concept for years. But now, The Marriott Group’s ultra-luxe, newly completed hotel, executive ‘long-stay’ units and private residential apartments at One on Whiteley are taking the deluxe cosmopolitan lifestyle to the next level.
Internationally renowned developers Amdec Group – respected for their visionary New Urban work – reached out to Italtile Commercial for assistance with the selection of sanware for 306 guestrooms and 81 private residential apartments.
The idea was to pull the same design theme through the various Marriott One on Whiteley spaces to create a sense of unity, as well as simplify maintenance.
Our Commercial Agents chose the Laufen New Pro Wall Hung WC and Slim Soft Close Seat – beautifully functional examples of cutting edge, modern Swiss design – to perfectly complement the future-forward design aesthetic of Architects Source IBA, Osmond Lange and Bentel Associates. This eco-chic WC was created for smaller bathrooms like the One on Whiteley’s compact, contemporary 21st century ‘sanctuaries’. It offers a dual flush option of 3 or 4.5 litres, as well as a seamless, rimless, hygienic pan to stop the build-up of germs, viruses and bacteria: making it both a waterwise and Covid-wise choice.
