Nuwkem Launches Ticra® Solara Gold at Cleantex Africa 2026

A warm gold finish for hospitality and premium venues, built on the established Ticra® steel platform

Nuwkem is launching Ticra® Solara Gold at Cleantex Africa 2026, taking place from 13 to 15 October at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg. The range extends the Ticra® steel dispenser family with a warm gold finish for hotels, restaurants, boutique properties and other premium venues where washroom hardware forms part of the overall interior scheme.

Solara Gold uses the same high-grade steel construction and operational design as the existing Ticra® steel ranges. Designers and facilities teams have another finish option while retaining an established dispenser platform and the same approved Rubbermaid consumables already used across the range.

Why warm metallics are gaining ground in hospitality bathrooms

Warm metallic finishes continue to feature in contemporary bathroom and hospitality design, with brushed brass, soft gold and champagne tones appearing alongside natural stone, timber and other warmer materials. Current 2026 design coverage points to a more restrained interpretation of gold, favouring softer, brushed and muted finishes over highly reflective surfaces.

GROHE’s 2026 Bathroom Trend Report identifies gold finishes as one of its major bathroom design movements, describing a move towards more nuanced gold that adds warmth and light without dominating a space. Hotel Designs has likewise reported growing interest in warmer metallic finishes in commercial interiors, including boutique hotels and wellness-focused hospitality environments.

The design direction also reflects a wider expectation for hotel bathrooms to balance aesthetics with performance. Recent hospitality design coverage highlights the need for visually considered spaces that can withstand intensive daily use and ongoing maintenance.

What Solara Gold adds

Solara Gold is intended for high-traffic environments where dispensers need to remain practical and straightforward to maintain. Because it sits within an existing commercial solution rather than a separate product category, the visual specification can change without requiring a different approach to product selection or consumable supply.

Graphite Black, Pure White, Velora Stainless Steel and the existing warm metallic finishes remain available. Solara Gold adds a gold direction for projects where a warmer tone fits the interior scheme.
