Duravit: A True Star(ck) – Fresh Ideas From The Design Classic
The revamped Starck 1 barrel heralds new colours, interior lighting and a matching mirror. It is Duravit’s true Star(ck) – with fresh ideas from the design classic.
Designer Philippe Starck and Duravit have tweaked the design classic. When the product was launched in 1994, the washbasin plus vanity unit turned heads with its archaic basic form, which was reminiscent of a bucket and bowl.
Today the Starck barrel is more than just a washing area. It provides attractive storage space and the latest update also shines a light into the darkness. When the doors are opened, the optional LED installation illuminates the interior without glare, so users can find exactly what they are looking for. The lighting lends the matt glass inside the barrel a particularly soft appearance. The new mirror also affords ample clarity. The lighting around the outer edge creates a warm atmosphere for any bathroom. Its rectangular form subtly contrasts with the round forms of the tapering barrel and creates a stunning ensemble.
The design classic is topped off with new, trendy satin-matt lacquers ranging from White to Night blue. The high-gloss lacquers White and Black and three real-wood surfaces are also available. There’s plenty of design scope for everyone’s dream bathroom. What a Star(ck)!
