Cosentino: Grooved textures

It’s getting groovy…

Long gone are the days of drab bathroom spaces with cold, sterile surfaces devoid of any decorative interest. Today, it’s all about creating an embracing space that is not only a joy to spend time in, a tranquil spot to relax and unwind in, but a highly functional room, too, with all the bells and whistles you could ever need to fluff and buff to perfection.

Part and parcel of this new approach to bathroom design is a whole spectrum of specially designed bathroom fittings and fixtures, including decorative surfaces such as tiles, wallcoverings and more in trending colours and textures.

The latest on-trend bathroom product to hit the market, Ukiyo, really puts the groove in groovy.

Inspired by the latest fashion in decor, grooves, Ukiyo offers designers a beautiful collection of grooved surface materials that combine elegance and functionality, creating an atmosphere that is both sophisticated and practical.

Claudia Afshar

Designed by Claudia Afshar as part of the Dekton collection, the range is available in five Dekton colours (Umber, Nacre, Bromo, Kreta and Rem) and two designs, offering endless possibilities for bathroom design.

“Cladding is an essential feature in any bathroom. In this sense, grooved options are becoming increasingly popular,” says Dekton.

“Textured surfaces add a sense of movement and style to the space, making your bathroom stand out. That is why Dekton has created this unique textured collection that will transform the identity of claddings. Ukiyo can be fitted on all types of indoor and outdoor vertical surfaces: walls, shower interiors and outdoor showers.”

But it’s not all about showers and walls. Ukiyo can also be used to clad cabinets and bathroom furniture such as cabinets and vanity units, making them more beautiful and sturdy. Not to mention that cleaning and maintenance are minimised thanks to Dekton’s resistance to stains.

To elevate the look even further, Dektron suggests opting for textured accessories, too.“think about using textured bathroom accessories. Textured towel rails, toothbrush holders and soap dishes will add a cohesive and sophisticated touch to your bathroom décor. These small details can make a big difference and create a balanced ambience when combined with your surfaces and claddings.”

Dekton is locally available through Cosentino.
