Steve Futter has been in the high end Contract, Corporate, Leisure and Residential furniture supply and installation industry in South Africa for over 30 years.
Soon after moving to Cape Town in the early '80's, Steve started a company called Westcape Office Supplies (Pty) Ltd.
In the early '90s he joined Dashing Office Furniture (Pty) Ltd and was later promoted to Area Manager for the Cape region.
In 1997 he was head-hunted to join Innovation Furniture Contracts (Pty) Ltd as Sales Manager. When the family business closed down in 2001, Steve co-founded ID Solutions (Pty) Ltd with Sean Weldon, along with its sister company Leisure@Work. Steve was involved in several large corporate furniture installations such as the Cape Town Greenpoint and Nelspruit Mbombela soccer stadium seating, Old Mutual, DTI, SAPS Forensic Science Buildings, Woolworths SA and Green Building Council, Sandton Food Court and Total SA to name but a few.
For the past 8 years Steve's company Leisure@Work has partnered with Brent Weldon's Inova Contracts (Pty Ltd to successfully complete
a number of large contract furniture installations all around the country. Working closely with Architects and Interior Design companies,
their collaboration has successfully completed a number of large furniture installations and roll-outs, including Allan Gray Head Office, Woolworths SA, Discovery Health head office, BCX head office, Raddison Group, Multichoice DSTV head office, Grindrod, Tullow Oil, PWC head office, Blackberry, Old Mutual Sandton head office, Digital Outsource, V&A Waterfront, food court, Capitec Bank head office, Maersk, PSG, Pioneer Foods and many others.
When Covid struck in 2020 Steve decided to change direction and do something new. He has embarked on a project of designing and producing a range of convenience furniture items, the first one being the "Zoomi sit-Stand" for working on a laptop. The inspiration for this product was born out of the need by so many working remotely or from home, attending and presenting at virtual meetings.
