Studio Stirling
Damien Hirst's Empathy Suite at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas opened in 2019 as one of the most expensive hotel suites in the world, at US$100,000 a night. Over two storeys and more than 9,000 square feet, the suite features a cantilevered pool above the Strip and Hirst's own artworks on almost every surface. Facing the floor-to-ceiling windows hang four Studio Stirling Slings in thick white leather, suspended in white steel rings and specified by Bentel & Bentel Architects. Each was made by hand in Heidelberg, just outside Johannesburg.
